Chrome OS on desktops (not just netbooks)?
It's a fact that Chrome OS will be based on Linux. It's a rumor that it might be a slimmed down version of Ubuntu.

If the latter is true we could assume that it will be able to run all programs that Ubuntu runs, but within a nice Chrome OS interface (at least I think it's gonna be nice). This would allow it to be used as a full scale desktop operating system running everyting Ubuntu can run, from gaming to productivity apps to Windows programs that work in WINE, plus the Google applications and various web apps.

If so, would you want to run it as your desktop OS or do you primarily look forward to it for your netbook?

Google is executing on the desktop adaptation of Chrome OS, and they have a accessory called “Chromebox” which is created buy Samsung.The accessory looks same as the Mac Mini, you will have to buy keyboard, mice, monitor from the looks of it.
