Cannot save .PDF files

I've been using the Chrome browser for 3-4 months and I like it except for two problems.

I can view a PDF file in Chrome from a web page and I can "Save As" to a file on my computer. When I try to open such a PDF file using Adobe it always says the file is damaged and cannot be repaired.

It works fine under IE 8.

I solved the problem in January by changing a setting in Chrome.

Can you provide an example page from where you are trying to download the PDF?
