update server not available (error:3)
I get "update server not available (error:3)" message on clicking "About Google Chrome". I am not running Chrome as admin. I have tried to uninstall and re-install Chrome several times (stable/beta/canary version).

I read about the Error:3 resource on http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin...wer=111996
The HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2F0E2680-9FF5-43C0-B76E-114A56E93598} address does not exist inside my registry editor. A search for {2F0E2680-9FF5-43C0-B76E-114A56E93598} in the registry editor leads to this address: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\GoogleUpdate.OnDemandCOMClassUser\CLSID
A search for GoogleUpdate.exe in the registry editor lead to this address: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\GoogleUpdate.exe. It contains a (default) and a AppID entry.

In Windows Explorer I found the googleupdate.exe file at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Google\Update. When opened it comes up with this error: google update installation failed with error 0xa0430606

Chrome version: 12.0.742.53 beta-m
Extensions installed: None
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
